Expressing why Carol Franzen deserves your vote for Mayor is easy for me because it starts with the patience and care she has shown my children. Any parent understands how important it is when someone is good to your child, and that was my first interaction with Carol.

One of my sons started swimming with Simon Kenton during his seventh-grade year, and my other son started the following year. They are now juniors, and Carol has coached them throughout their high school careers. She has been a solid foundation for both of them as they ventured into varsity sports and has continued to be a motivator and positive influence in their lives. We have watched Carol weather many personal storms during the time we have known her, yet she has always found a way to prioritize her coaching responsibilities and the young people who depend on her.

Beyond being my children's coach, Carol has become a family friend. My husband was asked to play music at the church she attends during a time of need. That experience eventually led our family to become members and find a church home there after searching for one for several years.

Voting for Carol Franzen is voting for a passionate woman who has already given 24 years of service to our city council. She does not do anything halfway. She loves this city, its people, and understands the depth of the needs here.
